Frå eit innlegg på ei IFLA-liste i dag: «The explosion that took place at the Port of Beirut on 4 August 2020 also hit the 3 public libraries of the municipality of Beirut managed by ASSABIL. Two out of the three libraries were severely damaged and are out of service. Their rehabilitation needs to start immediately before the beginning of winter.
These libraries are public facilities that provide free services to more than 30,000 beneficiaries annually, and with the current economic crisis and all the challenging events that are happening in the country, the need for these libraries will inevitably increase.
